Here's to Grandmas!

Meet my BEAUTIFUL Grandma! About 20 years ago she had a brain tumor leaving her very disabled, she is paralyzed on her right side and unable to speak normally. Her speaking condition is called aphasia. She can repeat sentences but cannot form her own. She learned to walk again, and although her right arm/hand are still unusable she has managed to build a quality of life that was so unexpected.

I think about my grandma all the time. She is still alive and kicking and its times like this picture where we're all making our "thiz" face that can help but laugh out loud at. She is an inspiration, she teaches me always that you don't need a voice to give love to everyone. Her sweet spirit radiates constantly. Words can't express how much I love my grandma!

Valentine's Day MASSACRE!

So...Although I didn't win anything and I'm sitting with a goose egg on the top of my head, I don't think I would take this experience back. Jumping into a huge cake with 96 other ladies has to be something on everyones BUCKET LIST. Annually around Valentine's Day 97.1 ZHT does this MASSACRE. The ultimate prize is a $5000 ring. There are other prizes like concert tickets, ipods, and cameras. I hung around cleaning myself off and ended up getting some swag from the station! Tickets to the Book of Eli, a yoga mat and a tshirt! I'm a huge fan of Big Buddah so Tim and I snagged a pic with him!

Baptism!

It has been a crazy few months! So much has happened. I will post the emails I sent to family and friends very soon.

Tim started taking the lessons on 11/10/09 and was baptized on 11/28/09. He received the priesthood on Sunday. We're so excited and feel so blessed!

One month and 6 days down...foreva to go. I'm slowly writing our epic fairy tale for ya'll to read, and my 4 days off a week will most definitely help with that!

Have any of you guys had the problem of becoming WAY too much of a home body once you tie the knot? I find myself always wanting to be home and having to force myself into the brightness of the sun!

Guess my hubs and I are VAMPIRES!... I'm showin off my fangs for ya!

Hair Stylist Lies

Ever think you're getting ripped off?! you probably are! I took a job at Sally's to relax and focus on school, so away my shears went(well not really, i have way too many friends and way too much family) and here come the savings!

I have discovered many things here! so once again here are my favs for freakin cheap!

Numero uno!

Any Biolage lovers out there?!?! Good, no great news! Biotera works just like it! SeriOsly! and they have all the styling products as well! Dont pay more when you can pay much much less!

Since i know most of you cant have my fabulous, natually long thick lashes.... I have a good fix for you! falsies! i know what you're thinkin'...you dont want to look fake! I dont want you to look fake either, these lashes come in little groups. they are super easy to put on, just grap some tweezers and place. You can leave them in for like 5 days! i'm not kidding!

Any of you not satisfied with your hair? Is it too short? too thin? too damaged? or are you bored with the color? then you have to try clip-in extensions! they have so many uses! you can have a few of diff colors, so you can add a few blonde highlites or some dark ones to draw some attention! if you want thickness their great! And they stay in! here is my before and after!

driving thru snow is like running on the beach

...or running for me period, doesnt work very well. You always see those people in the movies or whatever running in the sand... not the wet compact sand, but the dry stuff! you get this stupid notion that anyone can look that good... baywatch is all a lie. (they photoshoped the sand in!) anyHoOter, Utah winters are alot like your very embarassing attempt at running in the sand... you dont get very far and you end up getting stuck or you have to go in SlOw mOtiOn... which, might look ok in the sand and you might actually fool a few people! Good luck to you all... i've already had my fair share of being stuck in the snOw;)

Good news and bad news....!!! I have the greatest boyfriend ever and he got me Britney tickets for christmas! I know what you're thinking and you're right, how can their be bad news when i get to go to Britney Spears?!?! and here it is......... She isnt here until middle of FrEaKiN' April!

So, if anyone would like to go i am selling the tickets for $10 a piece!

Oprah Moments

Oh my goodness! I havent blogged in forever! So, i'm stealing Lindsay's great idea of her favorite things.... totally Oprah and totally a fun way to get people trying new fun stuff. Lets start with

great items for less, way less! (and lets not sacrifice quality!) Go to target! This black bag is $20! and the SOoO cute Flower Tote is only $12.99! Seriously!

Second, MAC eyeshadow is amazing.... and too expensive! Loreal(yeah, i know...totally old school) but trust me... loreal came out with a line called HIP (high intensity pigments) and its fabulous... all the pigment of MAC with out all the cost! Cream eyeliners are $10.99 and eyeshadow's are even less... (thats HALF the price of MAC!)

For those of you who dont know about cream eyeliner.... its time you get on the freakin' band wagon! At first I thought it was too good to be true... and guess what?!!? It's totally true and seriously works miracles... Doesnt smudge...(unless you really really force it) with the stiff angled brush you get a very precise line....and it lasts forever! Try it just mid lid to outer corner to make your eyes look bigger and give them a little almond look. Please ladies, DONT go crazy and pull an Amy Winehouse! If you want a smokey look, great line your eyes and then smudge them out with a little shadow in the color of your choosing... my fav is the charcole.

Ok! Since I have to work in a few minutes, i will leave you with my last fav and cheap thing! Sally Girl Lip Gloss! Only $.99! (ok the catch is its teeeeny) but its great! They come in every color imaginable and they're not too sticky. I even got my mom addicted... (she's used to lipstick...and we thought loreal was old school) so run in and grab some lip gloss ladies!

Halloween Continued...

We finished the night disturbing the peace at Olive Garden, with my long lost friend Angela, her littler sister Audrey and her boyfriend Jordan. I was appalled at the rowdiness that seemed to effortlessly flow from their immature spirits. Not alot could harm the light heartedness of the evening, cause c'mon... it Halloween! Although we ruined the night of the family seated opposite us, we still managed to have an exuberant night with as Ratish called them "the minors." I'm sure the family will get over it all, i'm not as sure Ratish will. As soon as this holiday ends I miss it way too much! Happy Halloween!

I showed up to Ratish's wearing my Thomas the Train costume. I'm pretty sure he was embarrassed as all get out of me...He still hung out though! haha. I guess it wasn't so bad, he thought i looked like a little kid! haha! Since it was his first Halloween ever, we needed to find him a costume. About a week prior we watched "Just for Gags," we laughed so hard at the guy dressed as the masked man from scream making funny noises at bystanders, that when we ran upon the scream costume it seemed perfect! It was! Thoughout the night Ratish would mimic the "just for gags" actor and force us rolling with laughter!

Digging Up the Time Capsule

I parked my car and locked the door as anxiety shot through my stomach. I approached the awaiting party realizing there was no need for my nerves to be acting up. Sitting on a brick bench of sorts outside of our childhood euphoria, were faces i owed so much of my own happiness. Ratish and i started on ski ball and everyone sooned joined. We learned about eachother all over again. Ending the night with a round of miniture golf and hugs. Nothing has changed. Education and engagements maybe, however, in everysense we're still the same 8 year olds we were 15 years ago.

Childhood Connections

I think this is the story of the year! ...So my addiction to facebook does have an upside. I was looking through the Timpview Alumni and came upon a name... Scott Morrison. He was in the edgemont 4th ward with his family a long long time ago. I added him, mostly because i remembered him but didnt know why. I saw his picture and my spirits were just higher...so i was in search of this long lost memory. I left him a sarcastic comment and a little reminder of where i came from... and he responded with extreme amazement. I was a little shocked he even remembered me seeing as it had been over 15 years since he'd been in the ward. I read on and it turns out he was my primary CTR-B teacher! can you believe it!?!

Images came flooding back and i was delightfully swimming in this lake of memories. I remember his class so well. He was young and vibrant teaching a bunch of 8 year olds... but he loved us so much! bless his heart, he took a load of us to trafalga and survived! i think that says it all right there! haha. of course, i was a very charming and well behaved child!! so maybe trafalga wasnt so difficult! haha

I've lost touch with the innocence that i was at the ripe ol' age of 8, and it seems my journey has been to reclaim it. I never thought that it could be a battle won... now i know it comes back to us in a different form, purity. innocence holds a naive boundry that breaks with sin, however, its sister; purity is key to attaining the childlike truth we know as innocence.

I believe its moments like this, incredible and random that help us remember what is so pure about life, and the experiences we have. Everything we do, everything we've done shapes our personalities and our ultimate cognitive experience... i cant mellow the cheesy grin that comes on my face when i get a message from my dear friend now. How can you not smile when you know your search for something is finally tangible? plus, its always good to find out our childhoods weren't always as bad as society can paint them to be. haha

so--- to all you grumpy people who hate reunions....GET OVER IT. there is so much to gain.
